Aberdeen to Sumburgh: There and back again!

What a week! And so it begins - one of many blogs to come!

We left home at 4:45 to drive to Aberdeen to catch our flight to the Shetland Isles. A good journey up and it's always nice to take to the air - it's been a while since we last flew. All was going well as we saw the roof tops and coast as we came down into Sumburgh. A sudden ascent and we were thrust back into our seats: landing aborted. The weather had closed in. So it was back to Aberdeen where the next flight with available seats was mid day flight the following day. Logan Air put us up in a perfectly adequate hotel - The Moxi, where the highlight was the Scottish Cup Final! Now I don't often watch football, but when there's nothing else to do and you are in Aberdeen and they are in the Cup final, as underdogs, against Celtic....and it goes to penalties...a great match with Aberdeen winning ... We didn't think it was a good idea to go into the bars of Aberdeen that night. Instead with other guests suffering the same flight delays and being interested in wildlife; some very pleasant company and interesting chat. Up the next day for a long breakfast and a more successful flight.

Waiting...

Up and away...

All looked good!

ATTEMPT II....looking more hopeful!

Leaving the mainland...

Fingers well crossed and a landing!
