I have many bags of sea glass so, with the help of a good friend, I had a play to see if we could include them. So this blog really is a reminder to myself as to how to do things!
Make two sheets of prefelt - even numbers of layers so shrinks evenly.
Place glass on...and cover with other layer....
Cover in mesh and rub with water and liquid detergent.
Cover with finer net and continue....on both sides....
Continue until you feel they aren't going to move - you can sew round the glass too to secure it in position at the start of the process - I didn't bother.
Lots of soaping and rubbing - when you can carefully lift and under hot water scrunch up and drain and keep working it ....on both sides ....
Lift and throw onto table lots ....on both sides ...
Carfully cut a SMALL hole and work the aperture smoothing off, felting with fingers ....
Dyed commercial prefelt also adhered well....
Time to embellish with beads and embroidery...of course you could continue by needle felting too....
The cut edge of commercial prefelt could be used as part of the design ....flat pieces of glass were easier to work that the rounded ones ...
