Cumbria Wildlife Trust Artist in Residence

From the blog, it may appear that I haven't been busy recently - but  I really have!  As Artist in Residence for the Wildlife Trust, there has been lots of planning, producing pieces of work to advertise events and checking/replenishing of resources. Producing PowerPoint presentations seems to take up most evenings and finding images to suggest as cards takes forever - although it has been very enjoyable looking through my archive photographs.

Two of the workshops I am doing are based on the Eycott Hill nature reserve, with a guided walk in the morning followed by artwork in the afternoon. The first, next Friday focusses on felt and  the second later in the year on lino cutting. It's difficult to know where to pitch the image  that is used to advertise an event - to good and it may put people off and give unrealistic expectations to poor and it won't attract people ...so below are my inmages for advertising purposes.

A small winter scene of Blencathra from Eycott Hill.

Eycott certainly won't look like this when we visit next week .....but it inspired my lino ...

A new style of lino. ...which may lead to a bigger more exciting felt piece.

Tow places left .....
