St Bees RSPB Reserve

A pleasant walk out - very warm - and good to see the guillemots and razorbills back on their rookeries. There were many, many birds on the water and it was interesting to see what appeared to be a 'bait ball' with hundreds of gulls feeding - no signs of any dolphins or porpoises though. Good to see black guillemots too, but the puffins evaded us! It was also good to see a pair of eider ducks - I've never seen them at St Bees before and to hear the kittiwakes. I only took a few photos as my battery was low and  then managed to delete them in the process of transfering them over ...having said that there really is no difference from last year - so here are a few photos ...from last year! Oh and we heard our first willow warblers too....
