Dot watching...

Lakes in a Day is a challenging Ultra Marathon that begins in Caldbeck and ends in Cartmel. It is to be completed within 24 hours.

So, yesterday was spent trying to spot Molly on the fells, including a quick yomp up Helvellyn, to meet her at the top, and 'dot watching' until just gone 1:00 am in the morning, when she finished. An outstanding effort, in what was her first Ultra Marathon. 52.38 miles with 12,199 feet of ascent in 17 hours and 18 minutes!

A few of photos ...

Registering for the 8:00am start.

Descending Halls Fell Ridge.

Molly - left hand side running down the rocks..

And into Threlkeld...

Reaching the summit of Helvellyn...

..and off again towards Fairfield via Grisedale Hause.

Live tracking Number 114.

Onto Fairfield before descending into Ambleside....

The family were all tracking that red 114 dot...with dedicated friends even tracking her whilst camping!

Tracking from a tent ...with the essentials!

And finally across the finish line - it was great to have the live coverage of competitors arriving!
