The last snow ...

As I was driving home I could see a white-topped Skiddaw peeping over the top of the hill behind the house. Having walked so much last week to get through the snow I fancied a step-out so took the dog for an extra walk before the sun went down ...well before it got dark anyway!

Grubby, granular snow - plenty of road-side drifts remain.
Hedgerow-drifts mark out the lanes; Skiddaw has its head in the clouds; sheep are not always easy to reach and the snowdrops struggle to revive themselves.

Burs remain; primroses re-emmerge; pussy-willow offers hope and a stoat bounds down the road.
