Geltsdale RSPB reserve

Another not very inspiring day, with washed out wintry photos - but good to be out. Nothing spectacular to report - teal, tufted duck, goldeneye, coot and cormorant on Tindale tarn (and a hide to shelter in for lunch) ; then just the usual views and and a grouse calling. The highlight though ..apart from a great view of a tawny owl sat in the road on the way there, was the large flock of lapwing that kept lifting off and landing in a nearby field.

Eyelash fungi.
