High Pike and Carrock Fell in the snow

Yesterday - A most splendid day! Far too many photgraphs to choose between, but here are a few. We set off from Calebreck as usual, up onto High Pike and then Carrock. Great walking, microspikes were ideal, especially across the normally boggy saddle between the two peaks. Great views into the northern lakes and especially to Bowscale Fell and Bannerdale Crags.

Carrock Fell from the path on the way up High Pike.

Just before you turn right off the path to top out High Pike.

From High Pike with Bowscale tarn in the mid-distant left.

Towards Bannerdale.

Rocky and Bowscale.

Dramatic clouds.

Towards Carrock ...before it disappeared in cloud.

Frozen rocks.

The boggy bit - pleasanty frozen!

Carrock summit - sadly any brocken spectres evaded us - the conditions had potential.
