Workington Slag Banks

Another cold walk - this time along the slag banks at Workington. It was heartening to see  the first Bee Orchid rosettes!

Workington's industrial landscape. The bar in the foreground is covered in Cormorants..see below.

Gooseander.

The orange of the Sea Buckthorn stood out on an otherwise monochrome day.

Bee Orchid rosettes...and below.

Looking across to the Isle of Man.

Magpies...

Slag cliffs....

As the tide washed the Cormorants off ...they moved off the bar and onto the harbour.
