Buttermere round walk

We had intended to walk around Buttermere once a month, but haven't done so since June 30th....The good news though is that the bridge back across the outfall of the lake is once again open so there is no longer the need for the diversion after Scale Force through the damp lane!

Looking up the lake (mere).

Goosander family.

Top end ...looking towards Haystacks and then back to Melbreak....last weekend's walk click here .

Herdies.

A few fly agarics left untrampled by sheep, but nothing in comparison to last year! Click here  .

There were a few fungi around: some chanterelles (not shown), fly agarics, slippery jacks and a soggy cep!

Mature slime mould on pine.
