Penberry to Whitesands Bay

Following on from the last post - a return trip - mainly along footpaths through fields and with a quick ascent of Carnedd-lleithyr and then onto Carn Llidi. Finding paths wasn't that easy and we did have to turn round once because of the amount of gorse. Fantastic views though and a great light - we saw very few people and even at Whitesands there were no more than 20 people on the beach.

A lofty lunch spot!

Pots on the way through the farm at Llanferran.

Umbilicaria pustulata ( old name) on Penberry, seals and ponies.

Ivy climbing some rather spectacular corrugated iron sheeting.

A last gasp of summer - red admiral.

Rocky looking tired on the top of Carn Llidi with Penberry behind.

Looking over Whitesands as the sun begins to sink.

Carn Llidi...a great little scramble at the far end then descent through the gorse and bracken.

Over looking Ramsey Island.
