Strumble head and Garn Fawr

A good circular walk from the carpark at Strumble Head ....heading west along the coastal footpath - out past Tal-y-Gaer Farm and along the spectacular cliffs to Penbwchdy for lunch looking across to Carn Llidi. This time we remembered to get to Strumble Head from Fishguard rather than going through the narrow lanes north of St Nicholas - well worth it! After lunch we retraced our steps to Tal-y-Gaer Farm before going up onto Garn Fawr before dropping down to the carpark and walking back to Strumble Head through the lanes. Highlights were the choughs, a close encounter with two red kites, lots of seals and pups; and  the columnar jointing on Garn Fawr. A warm and sunny day.

Strumble Head; Rocky enjoying the view; pillow lavas - rocks formed under the sea; chough.
