Aughertree Fell...fossils and views

A short walk before work, beautiful views through to central lakes and it was so good to see some sun and hear skylarks singing! After the storms of the winter lots of fossils have washed out...many crinoid fragments, corals and the occasional orthocone (straight nautilus).

Great views through to Skiddaw and beyond ...

From Aughertree to Skiddaw

Crinoid and fossil bits eroded out ...

..and washed clean...

Lovely textures on the rocks ....lichens and mosses.

Ice and reflections ....cool!

Ice patterns.
