Place Fell round walk

A great circular walk, with social distancing and some sunshine - albeit cold and brief! We parked up in Patterdale, crossed the river and then up to Boredale Hause before turning left onto the flanks of Place Fell. A very obvious and easy path. Then down a lovely ridge to Sandwick, with cracking views, and then we followed the daffodil trail back along the lake's edge to Patterdale. Some lovely birch woodland with juniper. This was Rocky's 149th Wainwright and I highly recommend it as a circular walk - lots of variation and easy to follow paths!

The path up to Boredale Hause.

Place Fell summit - Rocky's 149th Wainwright.

Summit views - across to High Street and icy tarns.

Descent towards Sandwick and looking back up towards the summit of Place Fell.

Return route along the Daffodil trail, along the shore of Ullswater.
