Bluebells: Lockdown 40

We are so lucky to live close by to Caldbeck and this walk, which we do several times each spring.... the bluebells were almost at their best as was the garlic. No orange underwings or speckled yellows yet ...had hoped for a speckled wood - maybe a bit early yet. there was however a pied flycatcher and a fantastic view if a nuthatch - the nuthatch posed beautifully just as I clicked the camera and the message came up 'memory card full' ...there was an expletive uttered!

Meadow saxifrage - heavily droughted on its usual 'knollock', a splendid stand of toothwort (87 spikes), cuckoo flower, bluebells and bitter vetch.

Wild garlic.

The ancient woodland indicator species ...herb Paris.

The river Caldew...

Colonial corals.

Giganto productus shell.

The s***ing huthatch ...lesson learnt - empty your memory card!
