St Bees - birds and a bottle-nosed dolphin.

A cracking visit to St Bees after the wind died down yesterday - nowhere near as sunny as today but that was better for photography when there was a lot of white guano! The plants are the next blog.

The cliffs.

Razor bills, guillemots, fulmar and kittiwakes.

Razorbills.
The rookeries ...

The sea...

Black guillemot...the only breeding site in England.
Peregrine.

I know it's not a bird ...but bottle-nosed dolphin.
In the lanes - stone chat, yellowhammer, linnet and goldfinch.

  1. Looks a successful visit. I didn't know Black Guillemots were this far S..... Just looked. It seems they breed as far S as Pembrokeshire. Good county tick!
