What a glorious day it was on Sunday.....knowing now what parking is like in the Lake District, at the moment, we set off early from home to get to the church at the top of The Coombe, above Howtown....and we did..just! We set off to do two Wainwrights: Hallin Fell and Steel Knotts, but found ourselves having done both at just 10:30, so we set our sights on The Nab . It looked simple enough, but we hadn't researched the route from Dale Head and the signs said ' No public right of way', so we instead decided to just enjoy a meander down the road listening to the red deer bellowing during the rutt.
