The forecast for the week wasn't brilliant, so with our first day forecast fair, we headed out to the main geological feature of Ardnamurchan - the volcano remains - seen in the form of a caldera. Our walk to the centre of the caldera also led us to Glendrinan - an abandoned crofting township -and a handy sheltering spot from a vicious squall!
A well maintained track leads to the township. |
The caldera is encircled by the caldera - volcano rim. |
Observers with Eigg in the very background. |
Dramatic light. |
A lovely short and interesting walk. |
