Portuairk to Sanna Bay

A damp morning, so a short walk from Portuairk, over the top, to Sanna Bay. We parked above Portuairk in the dedicated visitor's carpark, before walking into the village and taking the waymarked path. After a quick shelter from a squall we headed out, crossing the beck on stepping stones. Note to self always have a collasible walking pole in the rucksack! - It would have helped!  A narrow path wound through a mix of damp woodland and moorland, before Sanna Bay came into view. The day faired up, but it was evident that it had been rather 'blowy' overnight, from the redistribution of sand on the beach! But then again, we knew that from the poor souls whose tents had been flattened on the campsite!

Towards Sanna from Portuairk.

Looking back to Portuairk.....

..and down to Sanna Bay.

The tombolo.

Blown sand.

Sandy patterns.

Limpets.

...and sun...
