Bowness railings ....

Finally, after several visits, I got to see the little stint and curlew sandpiper that people had been photographing at the railings . To be honest, we'd been down several times before and all the birds look very dunlin like, but thanks to a friendly birdwatcher I got to see them. I can't say that I'd pick them out again - but as always the general experience of birds at high tide on the Solway was great!

Lots of birds that more or less all looked the same to me ...except for the ringed plover ...

Curlew sandpiper.

Little stint in the foreground...with dunlin and ringed plover.
