Clints Crags, Bothel

A rather blowy day which meant taking photos wasn't easy but the flowers and views were spectacular.
Views over Bassenthwaite and Skiddaw

Spleenwort and wild garlic heads - nice for design

Rocky enjoying the view - for Ben and Lucy!

Owls hatched!

Found a variety of fabrics and have made the owl cards which will be going up to Mae's tearooms tomorrow.
A parliament of owls!

Silloth Dunes

High summer must be on its way with the first ringlet and common blue butterflies.
Lovely dune flowers.
Restharrow; common blue; lady's bedstraw and heartsease; burnet moth; kidney vetch and fragrant orchid.

Fish and owls!

What a lovely evening on the Solway - brought in the set line - a total of 26 flounders, 16 bass (up to 7lbs), 4 dabs, 3 plaice and a thornback ray from five tides.

Rocky enjoying his first fishing experience

..and finally, after struggling with the shape of the owl, an owl card - I just need to find a range of fabrics that fit the card so that there are a variety of images to choose from.

New flower style

I've just run out of thread - very frustrating but here are a few of the new style flower cards.

A clump of common spotted orchids.
I need to revisit when they're fully out - but still spectacular.

Ireby Lion

I went over to Ireby this afternoon and dusted off the old lion in the square. The image is lovely as a card but I'm not sure if there is a market for it - it's hardly a conventional greetings card!
Better for the removal of a few cobwebs

More elephants

..and a set of cards and a small hanging.

Common-spotted orchids ...just about to be at their best.
Water-avens -going to seed.

Hay rattle - has diminished since we've lived here,
Hearts cards - lovely to use new fabrics.

Cards as framed pictures (£6 + p&p)

Hawthorn

As promised - I found 30 mins to play around on the computer with a drawing of hawthorn.
Scanned drawing and flood filled.

....and the view over Skiddaw - just because it's so lovely!

Bloody Cranesbill and flint

Lovely walk along from the coast - bloody cranesbill just coming out.

And then we found this flint
with definite signs of knapping .

Coffee cups

With a dead printer and incredibly slow internet today was a day of finishing off - more flower cards and these coffee cups - the red dotty being my favourite! Internet now fixed - thank goodness!

Criffel from Mawbray

Criffel from Mawbray (12"x 24")
There's always far too much to do at this time of year! Walking round the lanes the hawthorn is about to become laden with flowers - I want to do a pen and ink and flood fill in shades of green and cream on the computer if time allows.
