A very pleasant walk in the company of good friends in glorious weather! It doesn't get much better....Scenic and spectacular ....

Hi - hope you enjoy my blog. It's just a day to day record of my travels and art work. Search for me on Facebook at Julia Garner Arts.
With snow on the fells it was nice to get some sunshine - the conditions underfoot were though lethal - melting snow and defrosting turf made it hard going!
Beautiful views though as always....it is a spectacular spot. The glacial 'U' - shaped valley with a meandering stream, cutting through the Whin Sill. (The Whin Sill is an intrusion of dolerite and is perhaps best known where it outcrops at High Force waterfall in Teesdale.)

Blencathra, or to give it its traditional name - Saddleback. |

A splendid walk - the weather was perfect - if not a little breezy! My favourite outcrop - the Whin Sill.

A visit to a friend's today ...and Rocky's mum and sister. A great walk around Dufton Pike - the vegetation was really burnt off on the pike itself, but we walked along some lovely lanes and footpaths.
