Allonby update

A quick blow on the beach ...Allonby Beck has moved dramatically after this week's rain - ripping through to the outfall. Search Allonby Beck for previous posts on the movement of the beck and the sediments it has revealed and their significance.

Drumburgh Moss - fused glass

At our last fused glass session with Roxy of RD Glass, Tom made two lovely glass 'cores' representing the typical Scottish late-glacial tripartite sequence - rather than me explain this, badly, visit his blog click here for a clear explanation and some great photos of the glass.

This gave us the perfect reason for a walk on Drumburgh....

The Anthorn Peninsula (1)

Today was the first of what will probably be many trips around the peninsula looking for birds. Some good showers but breaks too and dramatic light - especially as 'golden hour' arrived.

St Bega's Church, Bassenthwaite

I've been really busy recently; putting it mildly! So on the best day weatherwise last week, I made a flying visit down to this little church - I must return to go inside on a day when I have more time.

It was a beautiful day for photography and the colours.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust gelli printing...

We had a really productive workshop hosted by Cumbria Wildlife Trust at Gosling Sike, near Carlisle, at the weekend.  Once again it was so nice to see what people produced, but also to see some new approaches that I would really like to explore too!

Needle Felted Pumpkins

A fabulous couple of sessions needle felting full size pumpkins - we all had a great time and it was nice that people felt confident enough to take away the materials to keep on making more - another great community event.
