Allonby to Maryport golf course along the coast...

While I was at school's Christmas fair Steve walked along the coast - a lovely, low, wintery light.

A frosty walk

While I was at work ...Steve enjoyed a frosty walk from the house. We are so lucky to live where we do!

Skiddaw over Derwentwater ....

Having sold the original picture I was asked to do another - so while the paints were out I did two ...just incase!

The painting is from just by the Chinese Bridge at the top end of Derwentwater looking back towards Keswick.

Lino cutting at Sooz in the shed....

A really enjoyable evening designing and printing at a new venue - Sooz in the shed, in Carlisle. A range of courses are run here so if you are in the area go to her fb page...I hope to be running some more sessions there next year!

Mungrisdale ...Carrock Fell...Fellside ...Emily's Black Lion ..... home

This morning I dropped Steve and Rocky off at Mungrisdale - where I was doing the craft fair, and they walked home. Not a brilliant day for photographs and it was damp later on and rather misty, but here are a selection - the walk was 13.6 miles apparently, including a stop at Emily's Black Lion in Ireby for a cracking roast beef sandwich and pint!

Mistletoe designs

Having made some mistletoe designs for a potential Christmas card - using a gelli plate, I can't find them! Hey ho...time to do some more...that way I'll remember where they are!

Crymlyn Burrows SSSI- Part 2

The backing reed-beds at the back of the marsh, dunes and beachfront.

Winter stalk ball.

Fungi and an ageing mid-late November common darter.

Cladonia and other lichens.

Remnants of summer: common broomrapes.

Old man's beard and evening primrose- the last of.

Crymlyn Burrows SSSI- Part 1

Tom has enjoyed a trip to Crymlyn Burrows on the outskirts of Swansea, on the day of the first 'proper' frost.

Clouds of linnet.

Swansea Bay, the apparently floating Mumbles, and towards Port Talbot.

Oystercatchers towards Port Talbot.

The River Neath, and the coal micro-strandline. 6 samples were taken to look for foraminifera along the bay, estuary and marshland.

The dunes and backing marsh.
