Drumburgh Moss and Emperor moths

On the way to drop off the shopping with my folks, we passed the entrance to Drumburgh Moss, where we chose to take our daily exercise. We took an emperor moth pheromone lure - which worked perfectly! Within minutes of  ' exposing' the lure, we had one flying around and at one stage we had three - a fabulous experience!

Birch trees in a beautiful light.

Cotton grass ...just coming out...

Skiddaw across the moss...

Marsh andromeda.

  1. What a lovely looking place to visit. Love that the cotton grass is out already. Never seen marsh Andromeda or indeed the emperor moth. Stunning.
