Watchtree Farm, now known as Watchtree, is now a nature reserve with good public access. In the past it was requisitioned during the Second World War to become the Great Orton airfield. After the war it was a munitions store, before once again becoming a mixture of farm land, a wind farm and a flying school amongst other things. More recently it became a burial ground for stock during the foot and mouth epidemic. But since then it has been transformed into a popular nature reserve. I haven't been to Watchtree for quite a while - well a long time, when I think about it! So, just a wander round to explore really. Nothing exceptional but here are a few pics...

Apart from the woodland, grassland, ponds and bird hides on the site, there are a several feeding stations which attract a range of birds including the obliging Bullfinch and Blue Tits below.
