A great afternoon with a rowing boat ....stunning views and an island landing. Rocky certainly found his confidence in the boat and enjoyed the geese!

Machir Bay - Islay.
Well the fog didn't really depart, so we went to Machir Bay - lovely to hear corncrake and chough. A pleasant enough walk on an empty beach to end another fantastic holiday on Islay!

| This lapwing wasn't playing ball! Hiding behind things, turning away and then preening. |

Loch Gruinart RSPB reserve.
It was a foggy morning, but with the feeling that it might clear, so while we waited, we went off to the hide at Guinart. So lucky to arrive and there was redshank on a post - sitting there very happily...and snipe being obliging too!

The daisy ball
A little while back I blogged about my daisy ball click here for original post and more information which I'd made and wanted to photograph on Islay ...so here it is:
Jura - from the ferry north to the coral beaches.
Today wasn't as hot as previously, but still very pleasant, so we caught the 9:30 ferry across to Jura and walked north along the coast. Good views as always and much to my relief, no encounters with any highland cattle and calves that didn't like the dog! Then the temperature rose again ...

Bowmore to Gartbreck.
Loch Skerrols and Bridgend Woods round walk.
A more overcast day ....which became humid, but it didn't rain. So a walk round Loch Skerrols and then across to the woolen mill and back through the woods to Bridgend.
