Machir Bay - Islay.

Well the fog didn't really depart, so we went to Machir Bay - lovely to hear corncrake and chough. A pleasant enough walk on an empty beach to end another fantastic holiday on Islay!

Meadow pipit and then below - a great view of a male hen harrier doing what harriers do!

This lapwing wasn't playing ball! Hiding behind things, turning away and then preening.

Machir Bay in the fog - substantially brightened up by the yellow flag iris that has all suddenly come into bloom.
