It's been a while since I made any of these - so time to re-learn tonight! Yes they are fiddly...very fiddly!

RD Glass - glass fusion course.

...and now for something completely different! With some birthday money I'd had I treated myself to Roxy Denny's beginners glass fusion course. It was held in her purpose built garden studio and lasted three hours. It was a lovely way to spend  a foul (weather-wise) morning! We learned to cut the glass first before designing and arranging 3 different pieces. In my case 2 bowls and a wall/window hanging. I'm really looking forward to getting the email saying they are ready to collect after firing/fusing ...and will blog the results!

Practising cutting pieces.

Landscape that was inspired by Luskentyre...and then it changed according my ability to cut or not cut glass! The transparent pieces will be yellows once heated. It'll be a bowl once heated. 

Then I got carried away on my window hanging/wall hanging...

.....and ran out of time, so a very quick abstract piece that will be a bowl once heated. 

After Storm Callum - Parton.

A nice walk out with plenty of finds and a very obliging raven enjoying a feast on the beach!

Kirk Fell and Great Gable.

Whilst I had the watercolours out I hand coloured one of the Kirk Fell lino cuts - they aren't quite dry, a bit tacky, but as they are oil-based prints, it was fine. The photo was taken in poor light.....next time I'll work more on getting the near white cumulus clouds lighter.

A very wet afternoon but an opportunity to hand-colour some prints of the village of Ireby. Prints and cards both selling well! The prints on the table just need the pub sign finishing off.....

The Fairfield Horseshoe

Wednesday was a perfect day according for the forecast, so as it was Molly's day off, she headed down to Ambleside to take Rocky round the Fairfield horseshoe. This included 8 new Wainwright's for Rocky - whose total now stands at 89. The weather was unnaturally warm, so unfortunately the distance was hazy and the whole landscape washed out for photography purposes. There was however Rocky!

Felt brooches.......

The Christmas craft fairs are now getting rather too close! I've still got quite a bit of hand sewn stuff left from last year and to be honest you make barely enough to cover the costs on hand sewn items. So, thinking I have lots of felt odds and ends I'm planning to make brooches. As always you need a lot to have a good display and if you don't they don't sell. However - I did wonder about just cutting the pieces out and doing some kind of 'pick and mix' make your own brooch for the school craft fair ....and if the bits don't get used, at least they are cut out ready for me to compile!...and I probably ought to make some holly leaves and berries brooches....oh the joys of Christmas!
