Gelli printed landscapes

Before we went to Norfolk, I was leading a gelli printing workshop in Threlkeld. After having talked, discussed methods and demonstrated different techniques people had time to play. I was asked if they could just watch me so, without planning it was err...ummm...ok lets try Norfolk landscapes ...being as we were going to Norfolk two days later  - these are the results - there is much that I would change, but it was a useful excercise and I shall try to find time to produce some more prints - combining my findings from these and the prints I made on holiday. 

Water Rail - at last!

A quick and last walk round Titchwell - good to have a third view of the Water Rail - and this time more out in the open. So a few more bird shots and then that's a wrap on Norfolk for this time.

Creeks, Marsh and Mud

A very pleasant walk along the coast between the main carpark on the shore at Brancaster along past Burnham Deepdale. A good mixture of boardwalk and path with views of extensive reedbeds, saltmarsh, creeks and quality mud - it was also good to have a nosey at the very posh and highly expensive coastal properties!

What a treat to see these - so well camouflaged even with their heads up!

West Runton flint

 Just some pretty pictures of flint on the beach at West Runton - ideas for designs....

West Runton

A dismal morning with a promise of clearing, so down to West Runton - site of the famous steppe mammoth excavation. A good walk along a flint beach with plenty of shells in situ in the Upper Freshwater Bed at the foot of the cliff. We found a few belamnites on the beach, but alas no mammoth teeth!

Titchwell and Holme next the Sea

An early morning pop in to Titchwell, where there wasn't much around, was followed by a beach/dune/saltmarsh walk at Holme next the Sea...gorgeous and sunny - 14 degrees - good to be out! 

The water rail was still in the same ditch as yesterday - pottering behing grass as always.
