Acrylic pouring

What a fun thing to do! I'm not sure what to do with the results, but it was great to experiment....so here are some photos of the results and the process...

Mix up the colours you want on a 1:1 ratio of acrylic paint to PVA .....the PVA we used was runnier than the one we have at school so experimentation is required! We used 10g of each. Then add silicone to the colours you want to add to the background - the silicone, when heated, makes the cells.
Do not add silicone to your base colour - which in this case was white.
Again experimentation is required but a lot of hair products have silicone in and can be used.

Put pins in the back of a canvas so you can pick it up !

Paint your background -use a palette knife.

Ensure the edges are covered too..

And now I run out of pics as it was too much fun! ...add the acrylics with silicone to your canvas ..we did this by pouring a small amount of each into a small cup and then tipping it quickly upside down onto the canvas ...then you can spread the acrylic by tipping, blowing with a straw, moving with a damp piece of tissue ...or whatever you fancy....then if you want the cells to appear use a kitchen creme brulee type blow torch....move it around and as it moves cells appear!
