With friends up for a holiday and not the best of weather, it was off to the beach. We explained that it was possible to find Roman fishing weights and described them where upon one was immediately presented! (Not by me either - bugger!) Thanks to Matt for the photos.

While at Drumburgh yesterday the rushes when reflected, made some interesting shapes.
This little museum is always worth a visit ....and it was lovely to see some of Percy Kelly's sketches too. Oh to be able to draw like that!
This is always a good exhibition - I just took photos of pictures that made me go 'wow', in attempt to see what direction I would like my own artwork to go in ...

.... and the conclusion? I like big skies and mountains (no suprise there) and I would like to be looser and more expressive in my work ...maybe that should be my New Year's resolution!
Now I need to go back to Rheged to look at the Great Print 7 exhibition ...and that will fire off more ideas ...
Although it was foggy, when it cleared briefly the views were spectacular!
