Arthur's Pike; Bonscale Pike; Loadpot Hill and Wether Hill

We'd only intended on doing Arthur's Pike and Bonscale Pike .....but being as we were there ....

Loadpot and Wether Hill weren't great last time we were up there - in the mist - and it wasn't a lot better this time!

We started by going up Arthur's Pike - then along the ridge to Loadpot ....down the dip and onto Wether Hill where we, again, searched for the summit. We knew it was marked by four stones - we found one and noticed that there were three barren little dips where the stones had been removed and put on the nearby, slightly lower, cairn. Then back down and over to Bonscale fell before returning to Arthur's Pike and across to the High Street Path before returning to the stone circle and back to the parking above Helton. A fabulous view of a Merlin taking a Meadow Pipit and plentiful Bilberries and Horse Mushrooms added to our return journey.

The stone circle.

Looking up Ullswater.

Cross-leaved Heath - a splash of colour ...

It was misty - moisty!

Rocky on the side of Loadpot Hill - not the top ...

Happy dog!

Wood Tiger Moth.

Plentiful Bilberries.

Golden- ringed Dragonfly.

A solitary stone on the way back ...
