Aldeburgh

After visiting North Warren we drove into Aldeburgh and parked up at Slaughden. We started with a walk along the sea wall that fringes the river Alde - again lots of reed bed, boats, quality mud and the year's first Sedge Warbler. After returning to the beach for our picnic, we then walked into town...which is an eclectic mix of buildings built at the back of the shingle beach together with fishing boats and seafood huts...more of which in the next blog....

Looking back to Aldeburgh ...

Sunken boat...

Grassland and reeds.

Coming back to Aldeburgh - concrete block defences fom WWII line the path and the converted wind-powered corn mill overlooks the classic shingle beach.

The beach.

Different building styles...

Built around 1550, the Moot Hall is Grade1 listed...and is incredibly well preserved...

Details....

...and boats on the beach - next blog....
