RD Glass Fusion Course - No. II

Another splendid morning with Roxy fusing glass. My second time, but this time Tom and two friends accompanied me. Once again we can't wait to see the results, but we'll just have to wait a week! Many of the colours may change in firing.

Tom's bee orchid and my coastal scene.

Tom's abstracted bumble bees: tree bumble bee; great yellow bumble bee and bilberry/montane bumble bee.

My Icelandic lava abstraction.

Abstract coaster: Eycott Volcanic Group (Eycott type) igneous rock.
The brown/plum base represents the devitrified glass groundmass, the red frit represents the grains of iron oxide , the black frit is the pyroxene phenocrysts and the large rectangles are the labradorite feldspar phenocrysts (characteristic of this rock type).

Friend's bowls and wall hangings....
