Buttermere in March

Well we have decided to walk around Buttermere once  month this year - which should provide some interesting contrasts in photography as the year progresses. We set off, but had to abandon our first attempt to get there, because of the amount of wet snow on the road, but it had cleared after an hour....Surprisingly, given the forecast we actually got round in the dry too! The lake was definitely higher than usual and the path back into the village was more river like in places, than path like.

Plenty of water/snow melt  running off the fells this morning!
