Clyne Valley fungi and slime molds.

Another of Tom's walks....From the entrance of the Clyne Valley country park at Blackpill, you can then walk up towards Killay using a network of paths. Due to this network its quite easy to create a nice circular walk going through a number of different habitats.

The beech dominated upper section of the Clyne Valley, and an egg parcel of a leaf rolling weevil
(likely the hazel leaf rolling weevil) from the lower valley.
I mainly went to Clyne looking for fungi, but the ground appeared to be very dry and bore little in the way of fungi. I was, however, rewarded with some spectacular slime molds and a fantastically coloured crust!

Two slime molds (possibly the same species at different stages) less than 3ft away from each other.

Boletes, brackets, bulgars and the cobalt crust- a truly spectacular crust fungus.
