Lesser twayblade - Cliburn Moss NNR

I've never been to this reserve before, a great afternoon out! The car park was full, which surprised me! I didn't think we'd find the diminutive lesser twayblade - the leaves are easier to spot than the flowering spike as it blends so well into the background. I'd never knowingly seen bog bilberry too, of which there was a good stand. Then to top it all a greater-spotted woodpecker was feeding its chicks!

The moss.

The surrounding woodland.

A nice Cladonia at the base of a pine tree.
