Kynance cove

Today was due to be fine so off to Kynance. Great views, lots of speckled wood butterflies, gorgeous heathland colours and rare plants and lichens - and a huge pasty!

Dramatic light.

Thyme broomrape (Orobanche alba) - gone over - one of the day's rarities.

Spectacular lichens...

...and  the real rarity: golden hair lichen (Teloschistes flavicans) - very pleased to have found  this! 

Knott grass and oak eggar moth caterpillars. 

Lovley heathland colours - especially the Cornish Heath (Erica vegans).

The spectacular cliffs of Gew-graze.

Prostrate juniper.

Lizard point.
