Bolsa and Ruvaal - a fabulous walk.

A great and long walk....16 miles of sunshine and fabulous views and wildlife. We started at Bunnahabhain then followed the path towards the lighthouse at Ruvaal, but cut off across to Cnoc a Cheaird. Then onto Dubh Loch and the ruins at Bolsa (sadly didn't see any adders), before descending to the coast and returning along the beaches towards the lighthouse, before cutting back across to Gleann Dubh and the coast.

Looking back to Bunnahabhain.

Heath-spotted Orchid; Garden Tiger caterpillar and Green Hairstreak.

Mala Bholsa and the Bolsa ruins.

All the gullies down to the beaches were full of primroses.

Some superb coastal features - especially the dykes...with ripples.

Lots of Red Deer and antlers to be found!

Superb views.

Stunning Thrift.

More dykes...

Spring squill ....a lovely find - one of my favourites.

A stunning back of the beach with Bluebells, Early Purple Orchids and Prinroses...and below.

Bluebells.

On the way back, looking across to Jura.
