Fused Glass: Gryke and Needles

It's always exciting to collect fused glass after it has been fired, as you can never quite tell how it will come out. This time, two quite different pieces: 

When we were in the Cairngorms we brought a few 'nibbled by red squirrel' cones home ...obviously they needed their own bowl! So the above is prior to firing - the dark marks on the thin glass rods are from where I heated them so I could bend them a little. 

After firing - the clear blobs of glass are like dew drops.

This bowl (before firing above, after below) is based on Maiden Hair Spleenwort and Hart's-tonge Fern growing in a gryke.
