Another visit to Wedholme flow and it's still looking wintery, but there are signs of spring: Primroses on the approach track and Coltsfoot and Pussy Willow with a bumble bee, at the reserve entrance. It's actually quite dry as well underfoot with water levels at their lowest for a while. There was lots of Hare's-tail Cottongrass out too (the first Cottongrass to flower) and many Pink-footed Geese flying in all directions trying to make up their mind as to whether it is time to migrate north. The bullrushes stole the show for me though, so that'll be the next blog.
