Arriving at 9am we had Giant's Causeway to ourselves on what was another stunningly beautiful, if not rather warm, day. This World Heritage Site formed from a 90m lava lake that cooled slowly and evenly, resulting in the formation of 40 000 pentagonal and hexagonal pillars. Click here for more geological information. In many ways, I didn't want this popular tourist destination to be my favourite site on our holiday, but there's a reason it is a World Heritage Site - and it doesn't disappoint..more photos will follow.
