Upper Teesdale

Well last week was out thirtieth wedding anniversary, so Steve took the day off and we headed over to Teesdale - the Hartside Pass was closed (unbeknown to us), so a detour was made via Brough and Middleton. On the way back it was supposed to open at 4pm ...but a tarmac lorry had gone over and emptied its load making for a long wait and late return ...well we'll remember the day! Glorious flowers as usual - sadly, the Globe Flower field behing Honey Pot cottage had been grazed so no Globe Flower spectacle this year. The Alpint Bartsia on the other hand, was the best I have ever seen!

Black Grouse ...there were 13.

The last few Spring Gentians -

Marsh Marigold meadows....

Lapwing.....

...and chick.

Globe Flowers.

Spectacular Butterwort.

A spectacular bank of Early-purple orchids.

My dream studio is falling apart.

Mountain Pansies.

Bird's-eye Primroses.

Alpine Barsia in amongst Marsh Valerian.

Alpine Bartsia.
