Cley and Titchwell

A day 'pootling' along the coast. Cley: first a walk around the outer paths and beach so Rocky could have a bounce,  before leaving him for a snooze while we went into the hides. Good Harrier views and a spectacular flock of 70+ Avocet. Many, many Wigeon, many, many Lapwing and large flocks of Brent Geese...we missed the flock of Twite by 15 minutes.

I love this new installation at the visitor centre.

Brent Geese.

Looking down the beach towards Blakeney Point.

Obviously a pocket full of flint pebbles had to come home ot be sketched.

Brent Geese.

Swishy-swashy reeds.

After a picnic lunch at Cley we went to Morston Quay, where we were going ot go for a walk, but the afternoon wasn't that pleasant, so we went to Titchwell where the highlights were a large flock of Golden Plover and a couple of distant Grey Plover.

Golden Plover.

Redshank.

Grey Plover (centre).

Quality mud!

Then finally a quick twitch - Cattle Egrets at Holme next the sea.
