Frampton Marsh

A stop off on our way down to Norfolk and what a bird-filled reserve! Spectacular numbers of Lapwing and Wigeon and good numbers of many other species. New birds for this year's list were: Lesser Yellowlegs; Ruff; Brent Geese; Avocet and Black-tailed Godwit.

It was really nice in that most birds were remarkably close - a good place ot sketch and draw but sadly, no time today!

The lovley plumage of Ruff ...and below.

Incoming Brent Geese...

They really are such smart birds!

Wigeon with Starlings.

It was nice to see so many Starlings close to.

Avocets ...and below.

Pintail.

......and the obliging Lesser Yellowlegs ...from North America - it has been at Frampton Marsh for the last 144 days ..pootling around in the water next to the carpark.
