Twitching

Ok, so it's time to say that we are trying to see 200 different bird species in the UK in 2024. To be fair, as the weather has been so rotten, it's given us reasons to go places in rotten weather! It's also encouraging us to holiday in some new areas of Britain too...hence our Cairngorm trip earlier in January - I still can't believe how lovely the weather was! Anyway a damp and windy trip to Workington and similarly to Maryport, yielded two new birds: Glaucous Gull and Little Gull. Seagulls, to me, have just been 'seagulls' but if you look closely there are differences....we also 'ticked' a Glossy Ibis as a detour on a trip to Leighton Moss....current total is 127 bird species.
