Cuween Hill - Finstown, Mainland, Orkney

Day 5 dawned dry so we packed up the tent and headed to Evie - north west mainland. On the way we stopped off at Cuween Hill - tomb of the dog - near Finstown. Nothing spectacular from the outside but beautiful stone work, with 4 side cells, on the inside where 24 skulls of dogs were found. The local tribe or family may well have had the dog as their totem or symbol.
