Wordsworth's Moss Hut

I am currently working on developing a series of workshops for early September, based on the concept of Wordsworth's Moss Hut ... Dorothy had seen 'Fog houses' during their tour of Scotland and they created a small version in the garden at Dove Cottage. No photos exist of it, but there is a written description and we know it was moss lined and based on a wren's nest. Hence it was known as a moss hut. The three workshops will be based on personal responses to safe places, where we can contemplate life, nature and the changing world, just as the Wordsworths did. The first will be a written response, led by local poet and writer Susan Cartwright-Smith, the second a 3D response led by Gillian Skillicorn and myself and  the third a printed response (collograph and gelli plate) led by me. The works will be photographed and form a display that will tour venues in Cumbria, while the original works will be displayed in the gallery in the Dove Cottage museum. A modern interpretation of the Moss Hut is in the garden at Dove Cottage.
