Striding Edge on to Helvellyn.

A great walk today - the views were good and there was a little sunshine for photos on the way up. We parked at Glenridding and did the round route of Striding Edge and then back over Glenridding Common. The weather did deteriorate on the way down, but drizzle was actually rather pleasant! There weren't too many people either. It was distinctly 'breezy' and 'cool' on the summit! We did Helvellyn, Lower Man, and Whiteside Bank and Molly did a quick dash up Raise (she's doing the Wainwrights) as the weather was coming in for the west. Rocky loved going up Striding Edge - we stuck to the most exposed bits, but there was just the one bit where Rocky had to drop down to the easier path - he likes going up but not down! He also didn't understand that chasing ravens while on the ridge wasn't the brightest of occupations!

Lovely light on the fells....looking across to Patterdale Common.

General views on the way up to Striding Edge.

Striding Edge - with Rocky about to chase ravens!

Looking back across Brown Cove as the weather came in.
